Valentine's day Teacher's Door

Valentine's Day

Valentine's day is one of the best party in school. A day of love floating all around us. It has no age bar. I enjoyed this year's Valentine's day party. Our teacher specifically ask for Valentine's day door decor and there was nothing else which can make me happy.
Here is what I came up with

It has been written that I am 20 times more loved because she has 20 kids in her classroom. I apologized for not taking a neat picture and final version as well. I gave the kids 2 paper hearts each to decorate and all those hearts has been glued on the top left corner. All those student decorated hearts has been falling in the umbrella. It was super awesome to make the teacher happy.
Enjoy!!!

Lego Birthday Party!!!

My little munchkin is 6 years old (Young :)) this October and obviously this kid is crazy about Lego. When It came to party , he asked me about Lego Party.
It was quick party. We book the venue for all his classmates. So everything was kind of taken care of already. But I wanted to give a little personal touch and do little something for him.
So  I decided to make little goodie bags with Lego Theme.
Here are how they turned in

I started  with very basic colors Red, Blue, Green, and Yellow.I got plain bags from Party City. Then I punched out circles of same color construction paper and stick them with double side tape.
I filled them up with Lego star wars reading skill books and chocolates.

Here is my 6 year old.

Crazy Hair Day!!

My little one started school this year and we have been going through so many fun projects. As I am planning to share all the project posts with you, so far I am successful to share only one which is "Themed Door Decoration". I will eventually share all of them. Right now ...:) :)
My son has Crazy hair day at school. Initially , he wasn't much up for it  because I think he didn't know what it means.
I think before the kids get to know anything about being shy and get an idea of "people are looking at me, this is weird or people will make fun of me" kind of things , we should enjoy and let them have a chance to not get into that feeling is best. So getting back to story, I presented him few ideas that we can do this and that and that and ....
"We are going to color my hairs???" that was first surprised, shocked and excitement he showed and I picked up from there. So I let him know how excited it is to get colored and everything. Then he came up with theme of Jurassic park...yup you heard right. He has a game of dinosaurs where he has small plastic dinosaurs and few little men figures with binoculars and few road name poles.
The night before the actual hair day , I hot glued the dinosaurs and a man and a one road name pole to the clips.
Then we color his hair with fun Green grass color hair spray  and  clipped all the dinosaurs, name poles and men figures to the hair.
After putting clips on I sprayed the green color once more to hid the clips.
Here is the final product :) :) :)

He has been called on stage for best hairs in the school for the day and of course he was so super excited about it.
So we are making a new "Idea Book" for next year , with lots of ideas flowing by for lots of other fun days.
ciao!!!

Spring Time!!

My stairs wall was completely empty and it wasn't giving me any good dream knowing that I have to do something to put on that wall. Initially I just wanted to color it ( no white walls please !!!) but it wasn't working out well with an infant at home.
So I came up with these. A simple square design which add up little color, little craftiness and beautiful wall.

It's pretty simple but classy look. Here is what I started with :
4-12*12 Canvas- bought from Michael's on Sale
Card-stock Paper - 2 of each color , I used little Red but little Orange hint and Brown.
Color markers
Glue
Flower punch
Start with canvas and Card stock paper. For me , since the canvas was 12*12 the card stock paper fits on it  exactly. Glue the card stock paper on canvas and keep it aside. Now, I thought on brown or orange, yellow flowers will be good contrast. So,I used flower punch and punched out few flowers out of construction paper.

I have two different flower punches so I used two different flower designs on both of the canvases. Now glue the paper flowers on the canvas of each color. 2 slides are ready.

Then get another card stock paper and write the message. I wanted to do this for spring so I wrote "Happy" and "Spring". Glue it on remaining canvases.
I had few crystal flower left from  last project , which are of perfect color combination so glued it at the corner of each canvas with letters.
Then simply add wall hanging tape at the back of the canvas and push it on the wall .
I did this project 2 months ago and still the canvases are holding up.

Expectations

I was wondering for long time , how does the relationship work? Frankly speaking I don't have any idea. When you start a new relation , weather you are entering in someone's life or someone is entering in your life doesn't matter. You start walking through stages, start building up moments , try to become comfortable with each other, you may go beyond your limits, sometimes, to let things work. You even try to change a bit knowing that "Change is good", taking interest in his/her passion, checking every now and then with him/her... trying hard to let fall things in proper order, trying hard to make the relation work...
But is it good enough? I thought it was. You do what you feel is best for the person, giving personal space yet be with them, a little call every now and then, text meanwhile, start expecting a little bit and as soon as the "E" word enters , the relations starts to spoil. You expect small little things which the person may feel "huge" .
a simple call -
"Hey, how are you?"
"Good"
"how's it going?"
"Okay"
"hmm
, so what's new?"
"Nothing much"
and the conversation ends......
No words to go further... I wonder this conversation can be other way too knowing any small detail which may happen in that particular day. As I always say, 'somebody just dropped the laundry bag on the way, poor guy' can be a news, 'I met someone new today' or 'I enjoyed my lunch today' can be news too. For me what did you say doesn't matter, a start of the conversation is always nice, anything practically anything can start the conversation but you need those things, at least for baby steps.

I never thought that expectations are so annoying for somebody. Me and DH always argue over this, that should we or shouldn't we keep expecting from the family. I think, I always expect and want things my way from my family(including my siblings and parents). They know me, I know them and that's it. Otherwise, from whom I am going to expect except my family? It is okay rather mandatory to expect from your family and they should fulfill it. That was my thinking completely....
But now things are changing. I started to think that may be this is not right, may be it is time to change myself and start expecting nothing... see how to much I am thinking about expectation... even with nothing I said "I am expecting nothing" :)
I grew up observing my daddy whose thinking was , it doesn't matter who is behaving how with you in the family , at the end they are family. It's not your position to decide the end, as far as you are concerned just remember you do your best as a family and things will fall on their places by themselves even if it doesn't, you do what you can till the time you can. But I couldn't stay like that for all this years. I was expecting things from everybody..my friends and family. And after all this year , there are few relations in my life got me in this thinking. I think I would love to start following my dad's footsteps now, I may understand few of his decisions which I didn't before.
I may get flying colors, surprises... I am just hoping for it and not expecting though :)
Thanks Dad for giving me a vision...

Teacher's Appreciation Week

So as we were trying to get into schedule after the wonderful holidays it's time to get ready for Teacher's Appreciation Week. As everybody aware of this tradition. 28th Jan - 1st Feb is Teacher's Appreciation Week. In our school, there is theme which whole elementary school have to follow and Decorate a class door with this particular theme. "Survivor" is the theme which has been given by the school. Now I am pretty new to this elementary school. This is the first year my child started PEPP program (pre Kindergarten)in the school. I am in charge of this whole door decoration as per theme thing. :) :) I thought it will be fun and started to think about the theme. Since Pre-K kids wouldn't understand eating bugs or surviving through any obstacles concept , I thought of putting things together to show a tropical island would be nice. This way the theme can very well explained because all the "survivor" episodes(yup "Survivor" TV show) has been shoot in some kind of island and also children would know what is on the door, they can enjoy it. Here is the result:
Our Teacher like the door and it surely paid all the hardwork :) :) Thank you to all the ladies ( other moms) who helped me put this together. Thank you teacher!!!!

Happy Birthday Rishabh

5 years ago our lives was completely changed forever and my baby
gave me a new name "Mom" in this world. We enjoyed every single
moment with him. His first look was heaven, his first “coo" was a chirping
music, his first tooth was surprise and his first step was flying feeling.
Since that first day, I experienced the changes from innocent only child to a
big bro and always amazed how matured he has become. Today he is 5 year old or
should I say 5 year growing awesome :) Happy Birthday to my sweet little matured
naughty monkey....

Happy Birthday !!!!

Keep Growing up !!!!

Happy Holi..

Morning started with an awesome feeling of getting all colored. while preparing for all the things ,I should be getting for the celebration , I put the first thing in the bag was colors. I checked that like 100 times. Yes, It was awesome feeling. I guess , colors are my weak point and playing "Dhulwad" after a long long time. Thanks to all my friends because of them the day was spent beautifully with lots of food items, lots of colors and laughter, crying, falling down and what not.

The day we thought ,let's have a Holi Celebration , I thought kids won't be interested at all. They won't be agree with the idea of colors putting on them,  specially these kids who call themselves a "Group". Oh yeah, you bet. They have their own rules, sticking together , standing for each other , lots of talking , lots of sharing information , the group is awesome mixture of little adventures, little scary, little fighters, little (???) talkative but knowing each other so much better.

But to my surprise , they were all excited and asking again and again , when are we going to play with colors. "Ms. Mansi when can we put colors on us"???? :) :) :)  and the moment I opened the color boxes, it was grand grand celebration. All were throwing colors on each other, for first few mins of excitement and then as soon as they got the whole concept the little fighters took over them and then the conversation turn  into, " why did you put on me?? why did you put green on me , I don't like green. ? Mom She put purple on me. I don't like to play with colors, I am done with colors, I don't want to take pictures." but somehow they didn't realize that while fighting with each other , they were still putting colors on each other and as soon as they done complaining , they were laughing together. Again I felt that what a Age!!!  No worries, no fear , a careless yet awesome bonding, loving relation they  are experiencing. There were so many people around us who were looking at the circus and the kids were completely forgot about the world and were happy , enjoying their small world.

I always believe that there is great relation between childhood and colors. As you grown up you enjoy different colors in your life and hence being with colors, the happy moment, the cry , the loneliness, the party everything is just perfect blend of each moment with colors.

New Beginning

For last so many years I am trying to write a blog. I had the blog but just nothing was written on that wall. Well.. in fact for so long I have not been writing at all. I wonder ....Why?  Oh got it. I thought I had so many things to work on and my hands were full and no more space for one extra crayon. Wait ... Did I say crayon??? huh I wonder I am still thinking about the same way as I was before. Writing with Crayon is the best thought I could ever get rid off with.

I always believe that any crayon shows you the color of your life. I had so many arguments over this with friends, family , neighbors and  KIDS!! Some of them were not fully convinced but a little bit    ... well 50% ... they say :) . Some of them were not at all agree and some doesn't have any opinion about it. It's just like writing , it doesn't matter with pen, pencil or chalk or Crayons!!!

One of my friend says it's color technique related with mood. Well , I am convinced to that too. But you need to choose the color and start writing. It doesn't matter which color but at least you start with just any ordinary charcoal pencil. Choosing color as per mood and writing something as per mood starts with colors. When you choose one , eventually you start choosing others. Sometime happy, sad, excited, nostalgic, any mood .....

So I am going to write again, starting with this charcoal color I am going to learn to choose the colors again.

I hope I will find my color soon. All the colors and letters kind of upset with me right now. But I just sat here , trying to start and few letters already start peeping through my bedroom, my window, my curtain and oh ....there behind the corner vase. Welcome friends.... After a long time , feeling really good to welcome you all.
